Today was water activity day, which meant an early start for some of the boys. The coach for the Pier Point Water Activity Centre left our camp site at 7:45, which meant rising at 6:30 with breakfast at 7:00. The troop was allocated eleven places on the sailing activity at the water sports centre, which meant that all the other boys were rafting on the lake at the camp site.
I understand from the boys who went sailing that they has two man boats called "toppers". Several said to me that once they got the hang of it they were able to go really fast and that the boat was leaning over and nearly touching the water.
The other lads had to meet at the sub-camp office at 8:45 and walk to the lake at the camp site. Here they were split into two groups, one rafting and one
playing water games, which basically meant getting as wet as possible.
The rafting was very similar to the activity we had a couple of weeks ago at the Scout Hut. People seemed to enjoy themselves although it was not where near as exciting as the water activities on
Windermere last year.
We all returned the our camp for lunch and a dry out. News filtered through that our resident injury prone Scout had injured himself again. Don't worry Mr & Mrs Stone it is not serious, but we got a message from the sub-camp office that Andy had to meet Michael at the Medical Centre to look at the injury to his leg. He slipped over in the changing rooms and had
bruised his leg. He's now sitting next to me and smiling, so things are not too bad.
The afternoon's activities were diverse. The boys could go to various activities including Crystal maze, drum workshop, games, or heraldry. They could also go to the craft tent.
The troop entered two teams in the tug of war competition. One under 15 years and one for the older people. Surprisingly I was asked to be a member of the
oldie team. Even with Andy, Peter, Charles and all the Explorers, we lost in the first round by two pulls to one. I am still feeling the numerous muscles I used for the first time in many years!
We all arrived back back for dinner - superb once again, and are sitting about waiting for the Status Quo Tribute Band which is going to perform on the main stage at 8:30. Andy can't wait!
Trip to Nottingham tomorrow.

An update to Nicks report
We started the evening with myself and Nick inviting some more people to attend our international buffet. I met some guides I met 5 years ago that were with our Scouts and have now grown into leaders.
The Status Quo band was brilliant. We all did a lot of jumping and singing. The atmosphere was brilliant with hundreds of people by the stage joining in.
Tomorrow we are on a trip into Nottingham. I have planned for the Scouts to do some swimming and ice skating as well as giving the scouts an
opportunity to spend some money.
