Ridgway Scouts Camps Planning Kit (Kitchen Manager)

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the catering on camp. He needs to do the following:-

- Make sure a menu is made for the camp

- Establish a budget for food for the camp. You will need to speak with the treasurer to establish the amount of money to allocate to food. You can roughly work on around £3 per person per day to allocate for food.

- Ensure that the required equipment is ordered. You will need to establish what specialised items are needed and make sure the Quartermaster orders them. You need to think about how you are going to cook your food, will it be on gas or an open fire.

- Arrange the purchasing of the food. The troop does have a store of stock items. Things like sugar, tea, jam, biscuits, soup, etc... as well as cleaning stuff like scouring pads, washing up liquid, j cloths etc.... Speak to a leader to find out what we currently have in stock.
