Saturday 31st July 2004

Set off

Summary: Hot coach, bad jokes from both the driver and peter, Absolutely loads of hover flies, small campsite with lots of gear, lots of people, good opening ceremony, excellent bands and a late night.

This is a very short report as it is the early hours of the morning, I still have lots of jobs to do and I need to catch up on some sleep. We expected a quick journey to the camp, but we were faced with a large amount of holiday traffic and left the journey ending up taking twice as long. When we got to the campsite we were faced with lots of hover flies which really get on your nerves. Our site was a bit smaller than we expected, but we have managed to fit everything on.

The opening ceremony was great with a good selection of songs and dances. We were then faced with a very young band called 'dilemma' which consisted of a boy aged 9, a girl aged 9 and a boy aged 12. The band were fantastic. We also had entertainment in some of the other areas of the site.

That gives you a brief description of the day. I will give you a better report tomorrow when I have less jobs to do. Night Night everyone (2:00am and the Explorers are still awake.)
