Stotfold Scouts raised over £350 for Children In Need with a special, fun-packed camp. The young people raise plenty of cash for the charity each year, but this years’ additional promise that the two male Scout Leaders’ legs would be waxed unsurprisingly pulled in plenty of extra pounds. Aside from all the games and food, another highlight of the action-packed weekend was a ‘pizza-off’ between the local suppliers, Dominos, Pizza Hut and UK Fried Chicken - who kindly donated enough Margherita pizza to fill over 30 Scouts and Leaders. After much munching, the Scouts decided PIZZA HUT was the charitable winner and had the tastiest pizza.
Aside from Hitchin Priory Chef Steve Hepworth cooking breakfast fit for a King, the successful camp differed from Stotfold Scouts’ usual programme of outdoor activity and skills with a weekend of unrelenting fun, games, activity and food - a dream weekend away from parents and schoolwork.
A Big thanks to Assistant Leaders Gemma Waghorn and John Barrett for organising the event as well as all the other leaders, young leaders, Scouts, chefs and pizza donors for helping raise money for Children in Need, and for an unforgettable weekend. |
