Scout Hut Activity Camp - Kit List

This is a two night local camp, so it is not necessary to bring lots of kit. If the worst happens, then I can phone home and order some more clothing!

Scouts will be in the Scout Hut most of the time, so a couple of t-shirts, trousers and trainers for this.

They will be able to use the outdoor fires so include some warm clothing and suitable foot ware.

I will take them out on Saturday afternoon, even if it is raining, to get some exercise, so please pack waterproofs (top and bottoms if possible). A good, waterproof pair of boot or strong shoes will be needed for this.

It may be very cold at night, so pack an extra blanket or two if you have any doubts about your Scouts sleeping bag. Scouts can bring camping pillows, roll mats or li-lo … but they have to blow them up. (I don’t have enough puff these days to help!!)

Include underclothes, washing kit, towel, and T towel please. A working torch is a good idea as Scouts will have to use the toilet in the Scout Hut during the night.

No CD/cassette players, radios or mobile phones please. I cannot be responsible for any of this type of equipment.

No need to bring cutlery, plates or cups

There will be a tuck shop of Friday evening so bring some pocket money. There will not be the need for any other pocket money during the weekend.

Pack everything in plastic bags. Bin bags or large shopping bags. It helps to keep things dry and is good practise for when we go away camping.

Any personal medical supplies must be clearly marked with the Scout’s name and the dosage. These must be handed to Peter in the Scout Hut on arrival.
