Silver Cross 2008 - Thursday

Our earliest start yet. Trevor (the slow minibus) left before 8:00am and was caught twice by Horace (the fast minibus) after a couple of wrong turns.

We were met by xxxxx a Scout Leaders and member of the Mountain Rescue team. He guided us up to the summit of Pen-y-fan and down again.

Initially it was a steep climb up a well established path. The views were breath-taking.

Just before the "saddle" we noticed xxxx putting on his water proof trop and bottoms, although the weather did not appear to have changed.

However, once to walked over the brow of the hill, the wind blew and the cloud came down ...

and we walked to the top of Pen-y-fan in cloud and never saw any of the views from the top.

After getting to the top we walked down and found a place out of the wind to have lunch.

FitnessMany thanks to Mr P. O. J. Rowlands for taking us on this trip which was part of our Fitness Challenge

When we got back to the camp site, it was still raining and a small stream was running through Dragons tent. We had to move the whole lot futher up the hill.
