Scout Hut Activity Camp for Children in Need - 2008

The camp began on Friday with a games evening in the Scout Hut. The entrance fee is £2, which goes to Children in Need, and Scouts may bring guests. There were lots of activities going on in the Scout Hut including, table tannis, snooker, computer games, a Wii, a Playstation and table football. Click on the photo to see what happened at the games evening.

Once our guest had left at 9:00pm, we got all our tents sorted out and then settled down to a film. Half way through we had hot dogs. Off to bed at 11:30 and quiet by 12:00. Well that we what was supposed to happen ...

Everyone was up for breakfast at 8:30 on Saturday morning. This was a very special breakfast as Steve, the Head Chef from the Priory in Hitchin, came to cook our breakfast ... and very good it was.

James. our Explorer Scout helper, came along and helped Steve.

After that the morning was our own. We played on all the games in the Scout Hut or just "chilled out" on the three inflatable sofas - unfortunately thay did not last the whole weekend!!

Lunch was sandwiches, created by Amy, Ben, George and Tom.

Then we went for a walk to Radwell to get some fresh air. We took lots of bread to feed the ducks.

Back to the Scout Hut after our walk and the start of the preparation for the Chip Shop Challenge. For this annual event we get 10 lots of chips from each of the four chip shops in Stotfold and everyone get a vote to see determine which is the best. Everyone gace 10 points to the best, 6 to the second, 4 to the third and 4 to the fourth.

The results were

Charles 262, Vegas 204, Pekin House 192, UK Fried Chicken 178

Many thanks Grahamn for organising this event.

Michael wrote and organised a quiz for us and the winning team were presented with a magnificent carve pole which was produced during the day. The day ended with another fims and a much earlier bed time - at the Scouts request!

Sunday was notable for the breakfast which Mark and Gary cooked - some very interesting sausages!

The camp runs from Friday 14th - Sunday 16th November
