Chief Scouts Gold Award - 2008

This weekend was a celebration of the achievement of the Scouts who gained their Chief Scout Gold Award this year. We were delighted to once again welcome Roy Snell, ADC Scouts, for the weekend and for agreeing to present the badges at one of the highest places in London.

We arrived at Arlesey Station, having managed to get Graham out of the bath !!!! and find James a pair of trousers and shoes.

A fast train to Kings Cross and the opportunity to inspect the new international terminal at St Pancras station. Some of us had to start our lunch!!! Then a No 10 bus ride to High Street Kensington, a short walk to BP House.

After changing out of our uniform, we walked to the Science Museum and spent a couple of hours looking round. Then it was back to BP House for a drink and then onto The Natural History Museum

And now to tube ride to Westmister and onto the London Eye for the presentation of the Chief Scout Gold Award badges.

Can you see Peter on the ground. He graciously gave up his ticket for Chris (who mastered his fear of heights and entered the London Eye pod.

All that walking gave us an appetite, so we found a McDonalds to fuel up. A walk up the Embankment, a ride on a carosel and a walk to Trafalgar Square and a climb on the lions.
