Over the weekend of 14th to 16th September, 12 Scouts attempted the Outdoor Challenge and 10 attempted the Outdoor Plus Challenge at Phasels Wood Scout camp site near Hemel Hempstead.

The Outdoor Challenge is required for anyone going for the Chief Scout Gold award and involves camping for two nights and carrying out a number of activities. These are described on the Scoutbase web site.

The Outdoor Plus Challenge is a follow on from the Outdoor Challenge and involve the Scouts in organising all the aspects of their weekend camp. They have to plan the menu and look after themselves for the whole weekend. The Leaders are only there to may sure they are safe. The requirements of this challenge are also described on the Scoutbase web site.

On Sunday morning we all shot down the Cresta Run.

... and of course the Leaders showed everyone how it should be done!
