Winter Camp 2006

6th to 8th January 2006

We had 23 Scouts and Explorers attend this excellent camp at Gilwell Park. The weekend contained lots of activities all weekend, as well as the usual amount of mud.

Short report written by Jonathan P & Josh B

Friday night - Once we finally reached Gilwell, after enduring what seemed like hours of Mr Crazy's radio station, we set our tents up and went for a wander around the site, then returned to a meal of hotdogs. Ben ate most of them.

Saturday - We dragged ourselves out of warm sleeping bags to find that it had snowed during the night. We thrashed our rival campers in a vicious snowball fight which was called off when breakfast was mentioned. Afterwards, activities began we first went and saw most of the explorers build and go down the mud slide. After they left we went on a ride called big air, but buy the time we had one go it was lunch. The usual things like shooting, archery, climbing and caving were all going on, as well as quasar, robogeddon and trampolining. The rock got hurt wrestling with gave and cronies, and ended with a bloody nose.

Take a look at the reports and photos below.
