Another day and another cold morning. The Explorers had decided to
keep everyone awake until the early morning with shouting between
tents and text messaging each other.>
Activities ran in the morning from 10am till 1pm.
With the Scouts keeping themselves busy during that.
Lunch was spaghetti bolognaise followed by
whatever cakes were left (We had a lot donated by parents). We
attended the closing ceremony at 2:15pm which wasn't very
interesting but we followed it up with us all buying an ice cream in
the shop.
Lots of troops had began packing away in the
morning which seems a bit of a shame to me. I don't see the point in
all that travelling only to not enjoy the last day of the camp. We
were quite laid back and arranged to be picked up at 4pm so we had
plenty of time in the afternoon to sort out the tents.
We got all of the tents down in time and had a
quick go at the egg game before leaving. The egg game for those of
you that don't know, has become a tradition of winter camp since we
had a whole load of eggs left over. You line up into 2 lines and you
have to throw an egg to your partner facing you. Your partner has to
catch this without it breaking. Once everyone has had a go you take
a few paces back and try it again. The winner is the last pair that
has a whole egg left.
The journey back was fine and equipment was
quickly offloaded when we got back to the Scout HQ.
Thanks goes to Janet Stone, Nick Cave and Steve
Darlow for helping with transport. |
