It snowed!. Wow, I wanted it to snow. I was awoken around 8am in the morning by some of the Scouts having a snow ball fight. The night wasn't that cold, and most of the boys were warm enough. One or two did not follow advice from the leaders, and slept in their cold, damp clothes and wondered why they were cold in the night.
The site looked like a christmas card. Ted decided he would sleep outside during the night and woke to snow covering his bed.
We had a proper cooked breakfast of sausage, eggy bread, beans and hash browns.
The activities started at 10am and the Scouts and explorers headed off to explore the site.
Activities included, caving, quasar, laser clay shooting, sphereing, soccer six, quads, pedal karts, climbing, playstation, internet cafe, radio fox hunting, amateur radio, dodgems, lassourel, simlulator, air rifle, archery, pioneering, orienteering, giant indoor games, abseiling, robot wars, climb the rock, high ropes, and campfire.
With all these activities on we make sure that the Scouts are not hanging around the site. Some of the Explorers built themselves a mud slide on the hill at Gilwell. This has become a tradition of our visit here, and they all arrived back at camp very muddy. (should be a photo on the photos page.)
The Scouts and Explorers came back at 12:30 for some sandwiches and cakes. The afternoon activities ran from 1:30 till 5:30pm and were followed by an evening meal of Chicken tonight with rice.
Some of the Scouts and Explorers have been at the disco and cinema this evening. (Madagasca and Fantastic 4 were the films). At the moment (12 midnight) all the Scouts are in bed asleep, complete with hot water bottles and the Exlorers are still out partying the night away at the disco. I wish I was there.
