Morning report!
Saturday seems to be going fine and everyone has been out taking part in the activities. Stotfold started getting up at around 7:30am and we had breakfast at 8:45. Activities on the site include caving, quasar, laser clay, fairground games, supaskills soccer, quad bikes, pedal karts, climbing, playstation games, internet cafe, radio fox hunting, ameteur radio, rocking reindeer, dodgems, simulator, air rifle, archery, pioneering, orienteering, giant indoe games, abseiling, curling, climb the rock, snow tubing, assault course and crafts.
Some of the scouts were mad enough to build a giant mud slide on the hill and get very muddy (See the photo below).
We had very strong winds last night and camps nearby have lost their tents. We survived the night with no casulties.
Afternoon report!
After a lunch of sandwiches, crisps and cake, the Scouts set off to take part in some of the activities. The Scouts soon returned and wanted to light a fire in the campsite. It still amazes me that a fire can occupy so many Scouts for such a length of time. The Scouts are still unable to light a fire after years of doing it at camp. They are too impatient and set alight to a small pile of twigs and watch it burn out as they realise they have got no other wood to put on it. Stillm the fire has kept the Scouts warm as they sit round an poke it.
The evening meal was chickenwith potatoes and veg and we were able to teach Nathan and some of the girls from the caldecote troop how to peal potatoes.
After dinner the leaders went off to take part in a quiz in a joint team with the leaders from the caldecote troop and we managed an impressive 4th place. We then went on to join the Scouts in the disco at 10:30 where we boogied until midnight.
The Scouts have all gone to bed and the weather is fine. The wind has died down and it's probably one of the warmest winter camps of resent years.

After a very muddy slide down the hill.
