14th to 16th February 2003
Thirteen Stotfold Scouts braved the cold
(-7) at the 2003 District survival Camp. All of the Scouts took part
in lots of activities and enjoyed the camp. Scouts learnt about fire
lighting, shelter building, water purification, distress signals,
first aid, rabbit skinning and more.
The Scouts built their shelters on
arrival at Boyd field. These were their homes for the weekend.
Scouts were given their rations over the weekend to cook and survive
on. The Scouts decided to sleep round the fire, under the stars on
the last night.
All of the activities done over the
weekend gained the Scouts their Survival Skills badge.
More photos of activities will be
here once developed.
