| What an excellent day out!. Everyone enjoyed
themselves at this brilliant event organised by the Britannia Flying
Club.
The aim of the event was to give a
flight to as many young people as they could in the day. We brought
along 55 to help them out.
Fifty five Cubs, Scouts and Explorers turned up at 10:00am
and were divided up into 3 groups. One group was taken for their
flight, another group was looking around the Shuttleworth Collection
Museum and the third group played games in the field. All the groups
moved round every hour.
After the flights and museum we took the young
people to the School of Falconry to have a look at the collection of
birds and watch the display at 3:00pm.
After buying everyone an ice cream all the aviators were
collected at 4:00pm.
Our thanks go to the Britannia Flying Club for
organising this excellent experience that I am sure the young people
will never forget.
Video Clip
Some of the Scouts and Explorers were given
digital cameras and we have got lots of video footage of the
flights.
Here is a 9 minute video clip of 2 flights, one in a Britannia
plane and another flight in a by-plane. Play the low-res version and the high-res version |
