| We booked 10 tickets to the Chief Scouts Picnic and we
chose a selection of Scouts to attend. It was a great day out with
lots of activities available. It was a very hot day where the Scouts
chose to spend most of the day in the swimming pool, which was fine
by the leaders. When they did venture away from the pool they were
able to go on the bouncy castle, craft hut, spiders web, candy floss
making and more.
The main purpose of the day was of course the
inauguration of the new Chief Scout, Peter Duncan. Everyone
assembled in the training ground where we all had a picnic and took
part in Scouts own. We watched Peter Duncan's investiture as well as
a special presentation to George Purdy for his past 8 years service
as Chief Scout.
Everyone enjoyed the day and we were lucky to be
part of the event.
