Clay Pigeon Shooting - 2008

On a cold but sunny Saturday afternoon, John and Simon took a goup of Scouts into a field just below the Langford road and patiently demonstrated the wonders of clay pigeon shooting.

The trap was initially set up so that the clays shot out away from the gun. Everyone had five shots and all managed to get at least one, and one of the Scout managed all five.

We had another go with the trap in the same position and then it was moved so the clays were shot high into the air. Again another five shots each.

Finally the trap was moved yet again so that the clay move right across us from left to right. This was very difficult.

A great afternoons activity and many thanks to John and Simon for ogranising and running the activity.

A safety briefing and exanimation of the shotguns and cartridges.

Travelling to the shoot and filling the trap.

If you look carefully at the larger photographs you will see the broken clays still in the air.
