3rd to 5th October 2003
We arrived at about 6.30pm as dusk was turning to
night and had to put the tents up in the dark. The boys decided to
have all lights off since it was easier to see without the aid of
torches. You can see from the picture that we pitched in a small
clearing under a canopy of foliage. Once the tents were pitched and
a meal served, it was time for some fun!

The Stotfold Explorers Autumn camp this year was
held a Phazels Wood I Hertfordshire. Five Explorers and two leaders
spent the first weekend in October

First order of the day was the fire building and of course the games
began. This year the competition was who get the most chocolate
fingers in their mouth without eating them!
Below are just some of the pictures from that competition – don’t
try this at home folks!

Richard has first try

Then young Dean has a go!

Of course Andy couldn’t resist

Careful Andy!
The following day it was planned to go swimming at Aqua Splash – but
Ewan wouldn’t get out of his sleeping bag so in traditional Explorer
style he was ceremoniously dragged out and dumped. Eventually we got
Aqua Splash and had time for some shopping. In the afternoon it was
time for Pot Holing –

The boys awaiting

Dean has a practice

Karl thinks this is familiar

Now who left hat ladder down here?

Up pops Daniel

Andy takes it easy – again!
Following the Pot Holing, we hired the karts at the camp and had or
own Grand Prix –

On the final day, we had a morning of lazing about
(typical Explorer task) followed by intensive wall climbing.

Ok – so where is this wall then?

Dean hanging on for dear life!

Does my bum look big in this?

Now this boys is how to do it for real! |
