On the 30th July nine explorers and three leaders departed for a week’s camp in sunny Staffordshire. They camped at Beaudesert Park Campsite, a large scout and guide camp site on Cannock Chase.

During the week they took part in activities on the campsite that included a round of Frisbee golf, mountain biking, Jacobs’s ladder, pioneering and a rounders match against a guide troop (the explorers won!). The leaders and some explorers also attended a ‘New Years Eve party’ held by the guides. Off site activities included a trip to Waterworld, a day at Drayton Manor and a day’s hiking on Cannock Chase.

For the most the weather was dry and fine, but there was some heavy rain overnight. A very enjoyable time was had by all who attended.
