| Downes 2007 - Wednesday 1st August |
| On Wednesday, like all Scouts across the world, we took part in the Sunrise Ceremony held at Downes. While we were there, Chiswell District held their own camp and we were invited, along with our Danish and Italian neighbours, as well as Scouts from America, South Africa, Canada and Germany, to participate and renew our promise. |

In the afternoon we had out first on site activity – Abseiling! This is were we met our Australian instructors, who became a big hit with the girls especially. They were over for the centenary celebrations and were a bit taken back by our lot – being so cheeky and getting lots of back chat! The boys got their own back though by holding them up halfway down the wall and making the girls sing a song and dance before releasing the rope! Steve and Laura had their own competition going – the first to abseil down in one jump! |
