Comanche Cubs
Comanche Cubs joined in the centenary celebrations with the rest of Stotfold Scout Group and the County during the May Day bank holiday at the Bedfordshire County Camp held at Phasels Wood Scout Campsite near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.
A centenary camp was held at the Scout Hut over the main May Bank holiday weekend jointly with both Beaver Colonies and Cherokee Cubs. Despite the weather we managed to have a lot of fun together and hopefully will be doing another one sometime this year.
We also celebrated the Scouting Sunrise along with the rest of the Group who had not gone on camp, on the first Wednesday in August. After a short ceremony at 8.00am to renew our promises, a cooked breakfast was enjoyed by all those present.
We joined with Cherokee Cubs for a snowy camp at Boyd Field during the Easter holidays.
Badges achieved by the boys and girls include their Air Activities, Scientist, Chef, Artist, Outdoor Challenge, Creative Challenge, Global Challenge and Chief Scout Silver Award.
We currently have 22 Cubs in our pack, many of whom were part of a ‘record breaking’ Gun Run team at last year’s Stotfold Festival.
The boys and girls have a busy summer term ahead and are looking forward to activities including fire lighting, backwoods cooking, air rifle shooting and a hike.
