Beavers had an evening finding out how magnets work.  This counts towards the Creative Challenge – How things work. 

We had four bases where the Beavers tested out different things.  They made ants from funky foam and paper fasteners and made them move around a paper plate with food drawn on it by holding a magnet underneath, they played a fishing game with paper fish that had paper clips on them and fishing rods with magnets on the end, they worked out which materials were magnetic from a table full of different items, and they created different patterns with iron filings on a paper plate by moving a magnet underneath it.
