Annual General Meeting Cheyenne Beavers - 2002

I have been with the colony for 18months now and have been running it since February when Lindsay Evans Left.

We have 3 good helpers, Jenny Brown, Brenda O'Dell and Kevin Seymour as well as Peter Cheney.

Thanks should also go to Daniel Cheney and Russell West who turn up most weeks to help us.

We took part in the Carnival procession with the Beavers dressing up as soldiers and making horses.

We had a great time at Shefford Maze and ate lots of strawberries when we went to Gravely strawberry picking.

We ended the year with a fantastic water fight which the Beavers and Adults enjoyed immensely.

We have played lots of different games, football and hockey seem to be the most popular. We have tried our hands at clay modelling, painting, magnet making to name but a few. We had a good firework display on Bonfire Night. In November we shared, with the Chickasaw Beavers, a talk and hands on session about reptiles. The Beavers were able to touch and hold snakes and lizards.

The Beavers enjoyed decorating the Tree for the Xmas Tree Festival at the church.

We took part in the rememberance day parade as well as the St Georges Day parade.

We have had several trips further a field, ie Gullivers Land, and excellent day out for Beaver aged children, Carters and very recently our trip on the London Eye and HMS Belfast.

Thanks to the parents and leaders for thier support and not fogetting the Beavers themselves for making it a great year.

Yours in Scouting

Maureen Simmonds
