Conkers

Eighteen conker wielding "Gladiators" entered the arena, some with only one weapon, and others with a full arsenal of conkers! Buckets, suitcases you name it (even lucky conker sticks came along?)

They lined up for the first eliminator round and started trying to smash their opponents to the ground. Conkers were flying the full length & breadth of the Scout Hut.

The referees saw many different styles throughout the rounds i.e. tickle it and see if it falls off laughing, miss completely and whack your own knee/hip/shin/hand, and finally smash it to smithereens.

The tournament continued deep into the night ending with a grand final between Reece and Alex. After what seemed like hours of battle it was eventually decided that neither conker had any thoughts of giving up its hold on it's string. So a joint victory was called, and both conkers lived to fight another day. The night was a great success, and hopefully the great tradition of conker fighting will live on? Who knows the next World Champion started there career on the night?
