This event is not only a challenge on the
housemates, it has required at lot of work from the
organising team as well as from the leaders.
We started the event with a radio
broadcast on the BBC three counties radio. And then the
housemates entered the house. They have wrecked the house
and have several pillow fights, but they are all on good
spirits.
The technology side of things isn't going
too bad. The sound quality of the audio wasn't good enough
but this has been upgraded and has been working better. The
quality depends on how awake the organising team are as they
need to keep adjusting the volume to get the best quality.
The webcams keep crashing. The worst
computer and camera seems to be the most reliable at the mo,
which is the diary room. The lounge cam computer is
accessible by us so we can easily rectify the problems with
it.
The website wasn't sorted until later and
you are now reading some reports. You wouldn't believe the
amount of cables that we have running about this place. The
computer I am using at the moment is using the internet by
going into a hub next door, then onto the scout hut network,
it is then connected to a 100 metre cable to a nearby house,
though a hub onto their network and then though a computer
to the internet. It amazes me that it is all working.
The voting starts tomorrow and we will be
trying to do some proper radio reports as well so hopefully
it will all go to plan.
More information tomorrow, lets hope the
technology works a bit better.
